June 1st - 3rd - Wellbeing Summit for social change 2022


The Wellbeing Summit for social change 2022 in Bilbao-Biscay, is the first global event bringing together social change, governmental, arts and business leaders working at the intersection of social change and inner wellbeing. The Summit for represents a critical moment in driving systemic culture change for the improved mental health and wellbeing of all changemakers.


The Civic AI Lab scientific director, Sennay Ghebreab is invited us a keynote speaker to give a plenary talk on humanising AI and technology. Furthermore, together with Katerina Makrogamvraki and Tod Machover (MIT Media Lab), they will organise a workshop on building healthy communities with (marginalised) people through music and AI.

June 1st - AI Entrepreneurship: From the lab to the market/ ashes


On June 1st, the Summer Edition of the ICAI Day 2022 will take place. The theme of this edition is AI Entrepreneurship: From the lab to the market. It will be a hybrid event with an exciting and interactive program with lunch table discussions, presentations from two keynote speakers, and other AI experts during the plenary part. Our co-director Hinda Haned is invited to discuss about how you can move from research towards the application,

June 9th - Bringing AI Closer to Citizens – Smart Communities


The development of European smart cities and regions of the future calls not just for an innovative usage of emerging technologies such as AI, but also for new, effective and inclusive forms of collaboration across stakeholders and across borders. Giovani Sileno (Civic AI Lab and SIAS) will participate in the panel discussion about bringing AI closer to citizens and empowering communities. Cities and regions increasingly represent testbeds for technological innovation and are adopting AI and digital solutions in an agile, efficient and citizen-centred manner.

Our PhD students will participate in the ACM FaccT conference!
